(1974) Cambrai (France) Airshow September 1974

The 1974 Cambrai/Epinoy airshow was very much an “open day”: hardly any visiting aircraft from outside Cambrai were present. The only foreign bird was a German Fiat. In 1971 we saw a few Mysteres in silver colour scheme, but now all SMB2s had been camouflaged. And in 1971 the 10-SS (an SMB2 from 10th Escadre Creil)  was on the static show; in 1974 its parts were on the firedump. The 10th Escadre (Creil) that used to fly SMB2s as well had now re-equipped with the Mirage IIIC, 2 of them being present at the show (10-RC/5 and 10-RN/58).
