On July 5th , 1968 Hans went to Royal Air Force Station Wildenrath , a few miles across the Dutch-German border . He positioned himself near the landing-approach lights and awaited the aircraft and helicopters that were to arrive to attend the two Open Days that were planned there on the next two days.
In July 1987 Hans boarded the ferry-boat from Hook of Holland to Harwich with his car and after arrival in the U.K.he travelled to RAF Fairford.
On July 6th , 1968 , 50 Years of Royal Air Force was celebrated at RAF Wildenrath in Germany with a great Open House and Air Show and Hans was present to enjoy what was happening and to take a number of black and white pictures.By the way, RAF Wildenrath was one of the bases of RAF Germany and is now closed.
The pictures in this gallery were taken in Germany by the authors throughout the years often under difficult circumstances , always staying outside the gates and fences of military airfields.
