Creil, some 70 kilometers north of Paris, is a transport base of the Armee de l’Air, housing two squadrons equipped with CASA CN-235 aircraft. The unit organized a Meeting de l’Air on the 29th of May 2016.
It is a bit strange to take Creil as one of the three bases that have Meetings in 2016 (the other two being Istres and Avord): the base was to be closed in the cours of 2016! But anyway, at the time of writing (June 2016) Creil still houses 2 transport squadrons: Escadron de Transport 01.062 Vercors and Escadron deTransport 03.062 Ventoux, both flying the CASA-235. A third squadron here is 03.060 Esterel, but its hardware (Airbus A310 and A340) are stationed at Paris-Roissy/Charles de Gaulle. As said, in the summer of 2016 Creil closed as an operational base and its aircraft moved to nearby Evreux.
