On May 27th and 28th Hans and Frank visited the Air Salon at Le Bourget near Paris. The available area for the Static Show was packed with aircraft – both civil and military registered – , but nevertheless some nice pictures could be made.
This report displays many types that were very modern at the time: the prototype of the Mirage F1, the Mirage Milan and the Mirage G.8, a swept-wing version of the Mirage (this Mirage G.8 was the F-111 competitor at the time); the latter two types in fact never saw service. New was also the Puma helicopter and the Breguet 941S transport aircraft. All in all this Paris show is a most interesting vehicle to go back in time again.
