Aircraft-Spotting during Air Events (under construction)
In this category we intend to deal with our visits to different airfields in the course of years staying outside the gates and fences , being certain that there would be lots of flying-activities , because Air Shows were organized , squadron-rotations or exercises were taking place et cetera. All these air events were publicly announced in advance.
This category is under construction. A great deal of the pictures that will be shown here will be transferred from the other aircraft-spotting category , now called “by lucky chance“.
On July 3rd , 1992 Hans travelled all the way by car to and fro Koksijde Air Base , which is situated near the Belgian coast . It was his intention to be present during the arrivals of several aircraft and helicopters that were to participate in the Open Days that followed.
On July 5th , 1968 Hans went to Royal Air Force Station Wildenrath , a few miles across the Dutch-German border . He positioned himself near the landing-approach lights and awaited the aircraft and helicopters that were to arrive to attend the two Open Days that were planned there on the next two days.
