During a U.K. round-trip to several USAFE bases Hans (and a colleague aircraft-spotter) also visited RAF Bentwaters on August 20th , 1970.
At the time the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing , USAFE was stationed there , equipped with the early F-4C and F-4D variants of the McDonnell Phantom II.
Pictures in this gallery were made by Hans , having been allowed to take position alongside one of the main taxy tracks. Apart from resident Phantoms , also two visiting Danish F-104 Starfighters passed his camera on this pleasant and memorable afternoon.
