Photography in Belgium near military airfields and outside the gates and fences was not allowed for decades. The pictures in this gallery represent a selection , taken by the authors in Belgium as aircraft-spotters from 1967 to 1971 .
Moreover some pictures of Belgian Air Force aircraft are included taken at unknown dates and locations (unless mentioned ) in Belgium or elsewhere within air base enclosures during military base visits or military open days.
In September 1988 it was 35 years ago that 306“reconnaissance“squadron of the K.Lu. came into operation.
In July 1987 Hans boarded the ferry-boat from Hook of Holland to Harwich with his car and after arrival in the U.K.he travelled to RAF Fairford.
For the first time Hans visited Leeuwarden AB (NL) as an aircraft-spotter in August 1967. In later years he came back several times. Needless to say it never was easy to picture aircraft in their landing-pattern and at other locations outside the fences !

Having received an invitation from the Base Commander and the C.O. 32nd Tactical Fighter Group , Hans went to Soesterberg Air Base , where an aircraft spotters gathering was organized on June 6th, 1990.
