June 9, 2016 | FrankCreil, some 70 kilometers north of Paris, is a transport base of the Armee de l’Air, housing two squadrons equipped with CASA CN-235 aircraft. The unit organized a Meeting de l’Air on the 29th of May 2016.

May 25, 2015 | FrankOn 29 and 30 May 2015 an airshow was organized at Solenzara. Ventiseri/Solenzara is an airbase of the Armee de l’Air (French Air Force), situated on the island of Corsica. The airshow featured a number of interesting warbirds, as depicted here:
Base Aéronavale Frejus – St. Raphael Open Day (France), June 1979
April 6, 2014 | FrankFréjus-St. Raphael was a base of the Aéronavale (French Naval Air Arm); the base is closed now and turned into a recreational facility. Frank visited the June 1979 Open Day there.
Cambrai Air Base (F) ,Portes Ouvertes, September 19, 1971
November 6, 2013 | Hans & FrankOn 19 September 1971 a memorable Open Day took place at Base Aérienne de Cambrai in Northern France and both Hans and Frank went there. Many aircraft of the resident squadrons including Super Mystères of the 12th Escadre de Chasse (FAF) , Fouga Magisters , T-33s ,a Flamant and a Mirage 4 were nicely lined up in front of the public. Also a Broussard of the 12th , a visiting Vautour and a Mirage 3C were on static. The 10th Escadre de Chasse was represented by a Super Mystère and a Magister.The air show comprised several Super Mystères , Fouga Magisters , T-33s , a Mirage 4 and a Noratlas.
Ailes Anciennes Toulouse, September 2013
October 1, 2013 | FrankThe Musee Aeronautique Ailes Anciennes is in the French city of Toulouse and has over 50 aircraft on display. The planes vary in the shape they are: some are fully restored and painted in original colours, while others seem to have been standing in the outside for over 50 years. Frank visited the “Ancient Wings” Museum early september 2013.
