Soesterberg (NL), “50 Years Liberation” Open Days, April/May, 1995
May 29, 2013 | HansIn 1995 it was commemorated that 50 year ago World War II ended and therefore Air Base Soesterberg was open to the public from April 29th to May 7th. Each day there were flying activities and demonstrations in the sky , given by a number of Warbirds that were present. Hans made a selective photo-report.

Warbirds at Cherrypoint (U.S.A.) Airshow, May 2012
November 3, 2012 | FrankThe May 2012 MCAS Cherrypoint Air Show featured -next to many modern aircraft- a lot of warbirds: airworthy civilian aircraft that are painted to represent military planes from the past. A few highlights: the West Texas Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) presented the world’s only flying example of the SB2C Helldiver. Also from the CAF was the P-51C Mustang of the Tuskegee Red Tail Squadron: the all African American 332d Fighter Group.

October 24, 2012 | Hans & Frank 1On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the R.Netherlands Air Force the annual Open Days in 1978 were held at Deelen AB ; Hans en Frank took a number of pictures there just to give you an impression ; amongst others the presence of the RAF Avro Vulcan and two USAFE F-111’s was significant.

October 19, 2012 | HansIn 1985 it was 50 years ago that the famous Douglas DC-3 Dakota took to the air for the first time. Opportunity for a Golden DC-3 Jubilee-celebration , organized at Eindhoven Airport and bringing together five airworthy Douglas DC-3’s : some in civilian, others in warbirds livery . In this gallery Hans shows you some pictures he made on July 6th.
