It was raining and pouring when a group of Dutch aircraft-spotters (Hans was one of them) arrived at Wiesbaden Air Base , Germany on May 18th , 1969. The group was coming from Frankfurt-Rhein. Main AB (see other picture gallery) and intended to be present during an Armed Forces Day at this air transport and communications facility., organized by USAFE.
On June 23rd , 1979 Florennes Air Base in Belgium opened its gates to the public. As usual the annually organized Air Meeting was impressive with many aircraft on the scene . The Danish Super Sabre on static and the spectacular performance during the air show of a French Navy Crusader and a Portuguese Air Force T-38 Talon are only a few of the highlights to be mentioned.
Fliegerhorst Jever in Northern Germany hosted the 7th NATO Tactical Weapons Meet , which was an exercise between 2 & 4 ATAF (Allied Tactical Air Force). Units involved were : 311/312 sq.,K.Lu.(Volkel) ; 16 sq., RAFG (Larbruch); 3rd Wing, RCAF (Bad-Söllingen) ; 11th Escadre , FAF (Toul-Rosières); 50th TFW , USAFE (Hahn) ; 48th TFW , USAFE (Lakenheath) ; 10th Wing , BAF(Kleine Brogel); JBG31/33 , WGAF(Nörvenich/Büchel) and LeKG42 , WGAF (Pferdsfeld). This gallery comprises a photo-report of the aircraft participating and also of some visiting and resident aircraft. Hans visited the Meet from 17 to 19 June 1968. Hans visited Twenthe AB (NL) as an aircraft-spotter for the first time in 1968. During more recent years he came back there several times when there were exercises going on and to photograph arriving aircraft for Open Days.
