Ailes Anciennes Toulouse, September 2013
October 1, 2013 | FrankThe Musee Aeronautique Ailes Anciennes is in the French city of Toulouse and has over 50 aircraft on display. The planes vary in the shape they are: some are fully restored and painted in original colours, while others seem to have been standing in the outside for over 50 years. Frank visited the “Ancient Wings” Museum early september 2013.

November 4, 2012 | Hans & FrankThe NATO Tiger Meet 2010 took place at Volkel AB; it showed participants from Holland, Belgium, Norway, Turkey, France, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany and Austria. Kleine Brogel (Belgium) Spotters Day, July 17th, 2007
November 4, 2012 | Hans & FrankThe Spotters Days organized at Kleine Brogel AB in Belgium always are a big attraction to hundreds of spotters and an excellent opportunity to see different types of military aircraft on static and in action. The July 2007 event featured two Hellenic Air Force A-7 Corsair II’s from Greece. Hans and Frank were among the spectators.
Base visit Eindhoven AB (NL), June 10th, 1970 (Swedish SAAB 105’s)
November 3, 2012 | Hans & FrankIn June 1970 Eindhoven AB saw a flock of Swedish Saab 105s coming in; a group of registered spotters (including Frank and Hans) was permitted to take a closer look. The Saabs were accompagnied by a Dakota and a Hercules and made an overnight stop on their route to the Paris Air Salon.
Spanish Air Force Museum, Madrid, November 2011
October 30, 2012 | FrankSpanish Air Force Museum Madrid, Spain, November 2011 The Museo del Aire -the museum of the Spanish Air Force- is situated a few kilometers south of Madrid, in a corner of Cuatro Vientos AB. It exhibits an impressive and interesting collection that includes rare birds such as the Heinkel HE-111, the Junkers JU-52 and onr of the three aquired Boeing KC-97L Stratotankers, used to do in-flight-refuelling of the Spanish Phantoms. And although especially the outside part of the display could use a bit of maintenance/repainting it is well worth visiting! Frank was in the Museo early November 2011.

October 29, 2012 | HansWhen you are in Paris some time, it is also recommendable to pay a visit to the nearby French aviation & space museum at Le Bourget. Hans did so on August 29th , 1990 and here is a photographic impression. A few pictures of a later visit of Frank are added.
